The second event in the “National Barbecue with PIK” series was hosted this Saturday in Vinkovci. The people of Vinkovci were delighted that the organizers – Narodni radio, PIK Vrbovec, and 24sata – chose their city for this event. They expressed a heartfelt “Thank you!” and proved to be exceptional hosts.
Following the barbecue event in the heart of Slavonia, the name of the second team advancing to the grand final of the barbecue competition is now known. The team “Always Hungry, Always Thirsty” secured their place in the final with just a one-point lead over the runners-up.
The eight-hour gathering was led by the ever-energetic Davor Dretar Drele, while the musical entertainment was provided by the tamburitza band Vranac.
Hundreds of Vinkovci residents enjoyed the beautiful day, enriched with excellent barbecue, made possible by meat delicacies from PIK Vrbovec. The entire Korzo was filled with the aroma of grilled food and the sounds of tamburitza music, while visitors joined in fun activities such as tug-of-war and sack races. Those from Slavonia who missed the Vinkovci barbecue event still have another chance. The next gathering will take place on May 18 at the traditional venue of Tvrđa, after which the “Narodni Roštilj with PIK” tour moves to the coast.
Residents of Osijek will next week have the opportunity to take part in the barbecue quiz on the Narodni Roštilj website, where the most successful participants can win a VIP experience including free transport in a Škoda Rapid, cold Karlovačko beer, and barbecue specialties from PIK Vrbovec.
Barbecue teams can still apply for the competition, while all visitors can show their support by grilling in the organized barbecue park or by enjoying the rich catering offer at affordable prices, featuring ready-to-eat PIK Vrbovec meat delicacies and Karlovačko beer—because it’s well known that barbecue and beer go hand in hand.
